RF-DAP 2024.3: Discover our modules enhancements, new features and user experience updates

We are proud to announce the release of RF-DAP version 2024.3!

This release brings several enhancements, new features, and bug fixes to improve your experiences. Below, check out a summary of the new features for Catalogue, Special Core Analysis Simulator (SCAS), Fluid Analysis and Simulation Environment (FASE), and Simulation of Thermodynamic Electrolyte Partitioning and Speciation (STEPS) modules.

RF-DAP’s framework

RF-DAP’s framework is updated! Using a more recent version of Angular improves not only maintenance and security, but it also provides you with a better user experience and a more responsive, reliable, and robust software.

CATALOGUE Module

Improvements and bug fixes:

  • Improved Chromatogram and Tracer Test experiments results.
  • Fixed bugs when saving hydrocarbon sample details.

SCAS Module

Optimized Relative Permeability curves for the Extended Corey model:

Run uncertainty quantification or manually choose Kr parameters in SCAS, with results demonstrated in Figure 1. Additionally, you can now manually fit the Relative Permeability and Capillary Pressure tables and improve the history matching of parametrized curves.

FASE Module

You can now perform the characterization of multiple samples with a common EoS. In the 2024.3 version of FASE, you can easily compare original, automatically, and manually tuned fluid models, as shown in Figure 2, along with the common EoS parameters.

In addition to OLGA and Eclipse Black-Oil, the export of PVT Tables to Eclipse Compositional is now available, with this function demonstrated in Figure 3, You’ll also find support for characterization of diesel fluid samples.

Support for diesel samples, improvements for the Flash simulations checklist, and improvements for composition editing and oil type information are now available as well.

STEPS Module

In STEPS, users are now able to balance an aqueous stream by selecting targeted ions and calculating the new amounts in order to balance charges, as demonstrated in Figure 4.

An extended DTU database is now provided in STEPS with support for Ideal and E-Uniquac activity models! Improvements in UX include a new layout for single point calculations, study configuration, shown in Figure 5, and sanity check for mass balance.

Bug fixes and Improvements:

Version 2024.2.5

We’ve fixed bugs for plot by phase in STEPS. Generating PVT tables with water in FASE is now more robust, and we’ve synchronised times and flow stages for core flooding experimental data in SCAS.

Version 2024.2.4

In Catalogue, the chromatography results layout is improved. In FASE we fixed BIPs table edition, removed errors in OLGA tables, and improved separator experiment results. In STEPS, we added an Extended DTU database and improved your user experience in SCAS.

We are committed to providing the best possible experience for our users, and your feedback is fundamental in helping us achieve that goal. If you encounter any issues or have suggestions for improvements, contact our experts today.
